Weekly Recap; 7/14/25-7/20/25

A week of preparation for the art show! Many lures have been tied and packaged. Art pieces have been finished and framed.

-

One day on the water and a few hikes in Nature. That seems to be the rhythm lately and I could not be happier. A customer at Millers Thumb mentioned to me, “That is amazing that you work and still chase all your endeavors.”

And then I realized that I am living the life I want to live.

-

Yeah, there are some areas to improve, but that is life and it is always striving for some improvements.

-

Producing this much art lately has been a blessing and has shown me how it needs to be a regular endeavor.

-

Wild Edible Walk:

-

Another wild edible was found! Mulberries!!! And holy smokes were they delicious and the color they stain your hands is brilliant. A new food added to the list and some art ideas to come from it.

-

As I have written before, the more connections you make and interest you give to the world, the more beautiful it becomes and the more harmonious you become with in it all.

-

7/17/25:

Guided Meditation at Aura Juicery

-

This class was a challenge. Besides already arriving late, when I got there, the lawn was being mowed, distraction. Now normally in my own meditations, that is no big deal, but seeing as how I was teaching others, it felt like a huge distraction.

-

Thankfully for those who attended! I hope they still got something out of it. It was difficult getting into a groove but life is all about learning. The next session in August will be even better!

-

7/18/25:

Lake Erie

Fun fishing with Dad

-

Air temp: 72°-90°

Water temp: 77°

Wind: NE 7MPH-> E 5MPH

Conditions: Sunny

Depth fished: 17’-37’

Time fished: 8am-1pm

Water clarity: 1’ +

Pattern: Summer

Best Zone; 28’

Total caught: 4 Bass, 1 Sheepshead

Lost 3 smallmouth total. The tube was hot! Lost three then landed one, then my dad did. The drop shot caught the drum. Then we doubled up on bass, one on a tube, and another on a drop shot.

-

It’s always a gamble to leave fish to find fish. But with the conditions, slow bite and patches of chalky water, I figured covering ground would help.

-

Appreciate every fish because you don’t know when you will catch your last. That was the story after moving spots. Not a total loss though, always lessons to learn.

-

It worked out well that the final spot sucked, because that just made us leave earlier to go spend time with my Grandma on her 92 birthday!!!

-

The lighthouse drawing is of the South Gap lighthouse in the Buffalo Harbor of Lake Erie. Lighthouses have been prominent in my drawings this past year. They symbolize so much and are a reminder of a time in which they were utilized.

-

Time with Grandma Ruth:

-

The 17th was my Grandma’s 92 birthday. That is such a special accomplishment. Having not seen her in the last few months, I had some anxiety about her condition.

-

Shortly after settling in there, those concerns went away. She was so happy to see my Dad and I. We all talked about my Dad and uncles growing up, our family coming from Italy as well as my Dad showing her pictures of our home town in Italy. The look on my Grandmothers face was priceless when she saw a picture of Pollutri, Italy.

-

Leaving her house I felt a lot of joy and pride to be who I am and come from where I have. My Grandma raised 7 children and 17 grandchildren. Such an amazing woman!

-

7/19 & 7/20:

Canal Fest Art Show

-

The Art Show was a success! Happy to meet all those who stopped by and chatted or supported the booth. Looking forward to the next show I will do!

-

It was exciting to sell more than just my lures. People bought moccasins, wooden spoons I carved and paintings I made.

-

My fellow artist Shira stopped by and helped make the first ever JDO earrings! The photo shows how cool they are! So stay tuned for those on the website too. We also started a cool little fish project that will be coming soon.

-

There will not be a TAOA podcast this week, but the recap article will be up on my website soon!

-

Tight lines and I’ll catch ya later!
