Another week without much time spent with Mother Nature, but made the most of it!
-
Traveled down to Pennsylvania to visit my Mom this weekend. Of course I had to spend some time on the creek.
-
The goal was to catch a trout, that did not happen, but I caught a fish nonetheless and the fish I caught fight like the Dickens.
-
For years now I have been referring to this species as a “Long-nosed sucker” and it turns out that is not true. It is in fact a “Fallfish” (Semotilus corporalis)
-
This one ate a green, brown and white Wooley Bugger in some slack water. When nothing else is biting at the creek, these Native fish certainly are!
-
They inspired me so much I had to do a colored pencil piece to honor the fish. Lately I have been obsessed and blown away by fish heads, eyes, cheeks and overall fish “portraits”
-
It seems to me to be a great way to connect with the fish, we interact with each other by looking in our eyes and faces. The more I’ve stared for hours at individual fish, while creating a rendering, the more I fall in love with them.
-
The amount of detail, Mother Nature truly makes no mistakes!
-
Another cool observation was a new mushrooms! An Orange one to boot.
The “Pinewood Gingertail” (Xeromphalina campanella)
-
Enjoy the photos below!
Tight lines and catch ya soon!
