The smallmouth bite was slow, but the Ned caught all my Dads fish. I caught mine on the tube, craw fly and a crankbait. Catching a fish on a lure you make is always satisfying, even more satisfying when you make up a pattern and catch a fish on it the next day after you tie it; cherry on top is that it is on your birthday.

What a birthday gift with those Musky! They both fought hard and ate the same style and size swimsuit on a 3/8oz JDO Jighead with a 3.25” swimbait. And on top of that saw two Osprey on a nest!
-
Many mushrooms were found this week, which makes sense with the wet weather. The birds have had a beautiful chorus every morning and night as well as the songs through the day. What a blessing it is to have music playing all the time and add in the wind and leaves. Peace of mind. The birding was awesome too. Had a really close encounter with a Great Blue Heron and even saw him catch a fish! (pictured) The Great Blue Heron drawing was done earlier in the week before the encounter. (also pictured)

Some new lures are being made as well! And the art work has been flowing! Both of which will be getting to the website soon for sale! The Craw Fly Football Jigs are something new I thought of, drew and then whipped up. It worked and caught a Smallmouth bass on the Upper Niagara River and I am certain it will anywhere. I will have them in 1/4oz, 3/8oz and 1/2oz

It has been a busy and fun week. It feels good to have the weather warming up and all the green around us. A shift in perspective and in mood. Allergies may be starting now, but you gotta take the bad with the good. Looking forward to more time in Nature and in the sun. Kayaking and camping are high on the list for the Summer season ahead.
